Frequently Asked Questions

Got a question? Hopefully you’ll find the answer here. Otherwise, feel free to send me a message.

How much do you charge?

Contact me so I can see how your ad accounts are currently setup and managed, then I’ll let you know if and exactly how I can help.

Account management and strategy costs depend on factors such as:

  • Your budget (see the “How much should I spend on Google advertising?” question below).
  • The size of your account (i.e. how many campaigns, ad groups, keywords and ads you have).
  • How often major structural changes are needed in your account (if your website changes a lot, or you have an evolving/seasonal product line, your campaigns should also change to reflect this).
  • Whether I am setting up an account from scratch or working on existing campaigns.

Do I need to sign a contract with you?

I operate on a no-contract basis (month-to-month), as it allows more flexibility and leads to better outcomes for your Google Ads campaigns. This means you won’t be locked in to a contract long-term, and that at any time you’ll be free to end your relationship with me and take over management of your Google Ads account. However, I do encourage you to try Google Ads with me managing the account for at least two or three months to see the benefits.

How much should I spend on Google advertising?

There’s no minimum spending requirement – the amount you want to spend on advertising is up to you. Google Ads can work for almost any advertising budget.

But to get some sort of idea of spend, you’ll need to consider:

  • Your overall marketing budget and plan.
  • Your ideal Return on Investment (ROI), i.e. how much you are willing to spend on advertising for what return.
  • The goals of your campaigns (e.g. whether you are looking to promote general awareness of your brand, generate sales leads, or increase conversions or purchases through your website).

Other factors include:

  • Your industry, and what competition there is from other advertisers.
  • Where you want your Ads to be seen (campaigns that are targeted to specific locations, e.g. “Melbourne, Victoria, Australia”, may attract less impressions and clicks than an Australia-wide campaign)

Ultimately, you’ll need to work out for yourself how much you want to spend on Google Ads, however I am happy to consult with you and offer suggestions.

How do I know how my campaigns are going?

Your Google Ads account is set up in your business name, so you’ll have full access. This means you can log in and see what I see, including all reports, costs and statistics for your campaigns, and the full changelog.

Alternatively, you can have automated reports emailed to you, or I can set up custom campaign reports upon request.

I also highly recommend using Google Analytics in tandem with your Google Ads account. When you link Analytics and Google Ads, you’ll be able to gain powerful insights into your website usage to help optimise your campaigns.

Do you offer a guarantee?

The short answer is no.

You may come across marketers offering a guarantee, e.g. “Rank No. 1 on Google or your money back”. Basically, even if you have a mammoth budget, this type of guarantee is hard to fulfil. This is because Google Ads uses a dynamic, constantly changing auction system. You might have to bid X amount for your ad to rank # 1 one day, and then three times more the next day just for it to appear at all. What’s to stop your competitor out-bidding you once in a while?

What I can guarantee is that you will be satisfied with my ad account management.

I will work closely with you to help you reach your marketing goals. And because you don’t have to sign any contracts, you can opt-out at any time and either cease Google Ads advertising, or take over account management yourself. You can read more about why you should hire me here.

Do you run Facebook or Twitter Ads?

For many businesses, Google Ads presents the best online marketing channel in terms of return on investment, but it’s a complex platform that demands proficiency. As a Google Ads expert, I’m committed to offering specialised, high-quality service. Therefore I focus exclusively on Google Ads and the similar Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) platform.

Do you do SEO?

I certainly understand the importance of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), and utilise SEO best-practices when improving websites and landing pages. However, my primary focus is on pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, which generates faster, measurable results. I do not offer standalone SEO services.

Do you work with agencies/offer white label services?

Rarely. If you’re an agency, you need to pitch me and tell me why I’d want to work with you; please don’t ask me to pitch you.
